"Get back to the front yard and let that poor animal be."
"We just wanted to see the eggs."
"You've frightened her. Now she won't give us any more eggs."
This quote shows how families lived back then and today as immigrants. These days have changed. Back then they would have a farm and produce there own food and today they can go to the store and buy the food but if they don't have the money then would be forced to produce there own.
This doesn't really connect to me but I liked it a lot because my grandma used to live on a farm.
"Truth, although serve, is a true friend."
What this quote means is that when you tell the truth to a friend that truth is going to serve you well and that friend would not hurt you. That's why at the end it says "is a true friend" so that friend is going to stick with and stay a true friend.
It connects to me because one time my i kept a secret from my friend and it was about her and then it ended up coming back to her and when i didn't tell her it came back to me and hit me too. I lost a friend that way and now i know that i need to stay truthful to friends and then they will be truthful to me.
